Eviction Defense Program
AVLF provides specialized trainings on dispossessory law and process that include a morning substantive training with experienced practitioners and current volunteers and a guided afternoon observation of a dispossessory calendar, complete with approved observation of the Court’s formal mediation program and a private meeting with a dispossessory court Judge.
Saturday Lawyer Program
While the Saturday Lawyer Program does conduct a substantive training annually during the Atlanta Bar Association’s Pro Bono March Madness, which volunteers are encouraged to attend, no training is required in order to start volunteering with the program. The program is set up to train and support volunteers during and after their chosen Saturday(s).
Dollars for Judgments Program
AVLF does not provide training in this area, as volunteers are required to already have collection experience. AVLF does, however, provide an extensive level of support to Dollars for Judgments volunteer attorneys.
