They Couldn’t Forget The Family Member They Left Behind

Ms. Jane spent years in an abusive marriage. Eventually, she fled with her daughter across state lines, ultimately landing in Georgia. Although the twosome finally found safety, her daughter had left her dog behind. Neither of them could forget the pet.

As an immigrant and a non-native English speaker, Ms. Jane faced even more problems. While she fought to find a job and secure housing for her and her daughter, her husband appeared in the state. He began surveilling her and making threats.

That’s when Corrin Drakulich and Erin Alper from Fish & Richardson stepped in. After a very long day in court and lots of hard work, the court awarded Ms. Jane a twelve-month protective order. The icing on the cake? They were able to bring the dog to Georgia.
