Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s newest program, Standing with Our Neighbors™, is making waves in both local and national media.

This program is taking direct action against the affordable housing crisis in Atlanta – a crisis that plagues cities across the country – by revolutionizing how we meet the needs of our clients. Rather than waiting for tenants to find AVLF, we are putting lawyers and advocates directly in schools to address housing problems families face day-in and day-out.

This place-based program seeks to overhaul the typical legal services model in favor of something more accessible and equitable. By managing the immediate housing needs of students, we are able to stabilize a family. And when you stabilize a family, you stabilize a school – not to mention the whole community.
