Note: The Family Law 101 portion of the training, a requirement by of Uniform Superior Court Rule 24.9, will now occur in an online learning format which experienced family law practitioners may test out of. This module will be shared with registrants before the training, with the expectation that registrants will have reviewed the material before the training dates.

Over the course of the training, you’ll learn what it means to act as an officer of the court advocating for the best interest of children in high-conflict custody disputes.

Topics taught by seasoned attorneys, psychologists, and other experts include custody & visitation law in Georgia, child development and the psychological impact of custody decisions, cultural humility, writing reports, and preparing for cross-examination, among others.

While everyone, including non-attorneys, are welcome to attend this training, you must be an attorney and attend the full training to receive a Certificate of Completion and to volunteer as a guardian ad litem with AVLF in Fulton County. 

This training is has been approved for 14 hours of CLEs through the State Bar of Georgia, including one ethics hour and one trial hour.
