Expert volunteer attorneys with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation will present a  “Know Your Rights” presentation on how to deal with debt collectors and debt-collection lawsuits. Information will include the laws debt collectors must obey in attempting to collect a debt and your rights when those laws are violated be overly aggressive debt collectors. Advice for defending debt-collection lawsuits, including how to answer a lawsuit, how to negotiate with the other side, and defenses to raise will also be covered.
