Home Is Not For Rats

Most of the units in Willa’s complex were boarded up and abandoned. Rats came to her apartment looking for food. They got into her kitchen through the unit’s numerous holes and nibbled on her bread.

Her landlord shrugged and provided rat traps, which quickly filled with dead rodents.

Appalled, Willa stopped paying rent and came to AVLF’s Saturday Lawyer Program. There, she met Bradley Hull of Ford Harrison. Bradley’s letters and phone calls to the landlord were ignored, so he filed suit.

Ultimately, the landlord agreed to waive thousands of dollars in rent, and returned Willa’s security deposit in full. She has now moved into a much nicer home. Great work, Bradley!
