At the Atlanta Bar Foundation’s Celebrating Service Luncheon, we presented five awards to firms and volunteers who have shown a remarkable commitment to our mission this year.

The 2019 Annual Campaign Steering Committee gathered in the Safe Families Office to meet staff and learn about their work with survivors of intimate partner abuse.

Our new mobile advocacy initiative brings services to survivors of intimate partner abuse out of the courthouse and into the community.

In honor of Georgia Paralegal Week, the Atlanta Paralegal Association stepped up to support our client in her transition from abuse to stability.

On June 6th, our Steering Committee visited Hollis Innovation Academy – one of our Standing with Our Neighbors™ schools – to learn more about the work we’re doing at the intersection of health, housing, and intimate partner abuse.

The Shriver Center’s Racial Justice Institute trains each cohort on racial equity in anti-poverty advocacy. The Fellows’ advocacy covers issues such as criminal justice reform, consumer protection, and immigrants’ rights, and more.

On March 6th, AVLF staff members discussed tenants’ rights and Protective Order basics at an Immigrant and Housing Coalition meeting at New American Pathways.

On March 21st, AVLF attended the inaugural Beloved Benefit, where we were recognized for our work in Atlanta’s Westside community.

In February, AVLF is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Safe Families Office – Georgia’s first lawyer-staffed, courthouse-based walk-in clinic for survivors of domestic abuse.

The Indoor Air Quality Association hosted their annual meeting and Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation was there to talk health and housing.
