Late is Always Better Than Never
In 2011, a couple paid a security deposit for a house they were never allowed to move into. When they tried to get their money back, the landlord refused, stating they would have to sign a blank piece of paper first. The prospective tenants knew something wasn’t right and refused to sign. When the house quickly popped up again on Craigslist, they knew it had all been a scam.
Even after the 2011 trial awarded the couple $7,936 for their security deposit, attorney fees, and fraud damages, the sleazy landlord refused to pay. But thanks to the hard work of Anna Fretwell – who has been on the case since it began 6 years ago – the full amount was mailed to the couple this month. They now live in Florida and just gave birth to their fourth child.
