Ms. Headly lived quietly with her granddaughter and a live-in aid. After undergoing major surgery, she required a cane to walk. Because her apartment was being renovated, her landlord temporarily moved her to another unit. Soon thereafter, Ms. Headly realized her new apartment was completely infested with bedbugs. 

Even though she contacted her landlord immediately, he did not call her back for three weeks. While she waited on the apartment management to treat the bedbugs, Ms. Headly was forced to rely on friends and move from temporary living condition to temporary living condition. Many months later, the bugs lingered. 

Thanks to star volunteer attorney Ha Pham, Ms. Headly was moved into a new, bug-free apartment. Even better? Her landlord gave her a new bug-free bed.
