Crystal Redd is the Senior Director of Programs & Advocacy at the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF). She supervises all programmatic efforts at AVLF including the Safe and Stable Families Project that serves survivors of intimate partner abuse, and the Safe and Stable Homes Project which provides legal representation for marginalized community members in disputes with their landlords. Additionally, she focuses on special initiatives and larger-impact efforts to promote affordable housing and anti-displacement measures in metro Atlanta. Previously, she served as the Co-Director of the Safe and Stable Homes Project and Managing Attorney of the Eviction Defense Program.
Prior to joining AVLF, Crystal was a staff attorney and capital investigator at the Southern Center for Human Rights, a public interest legal organization dedicated to enforcing the civil rights of people in the criminal legal system in the South. She also served as an educator in Atlanta Public Schools for seven years. Crystal obtained an undergraduate degree in history from Harvard College, a Master’s degree in Education from Georgia State University, and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School.
