Low-income tenants in Atlanta often face challenges like illegal evictions, withheld security deposits, and unsafe living conditions that landlords ignore.
Through our Saturday Lawyer Program, AVLF brings together a network of volunteer attorneys to support these tenants, ensuring they receive the protection and justice they deserve.

How It Works
On select Saturday mornings, volunteer attorneys join us for a brief training and then meet one-on-one with clients to discuss their housing issues. These issues may include:
- Illegal evictions or landlord retaliation
- Uninhabitable or unsafe living conditions
- Improperly withheld or unpaid security deposits
- Unfair lease practices
A Trusted Resource for Tenants
SLP is one of Atlanta’s longest-running legal clinics—and it continues to thrive thanks to the generosity of local attorneys who give their time and talent to help renters protect their homes.
- $1.1 million in settlements or judgments to clients over the past 7 years
- In 2024, volunteers provided more than 1,700 hours of pro bono service to over 400 clients
