AVLF chosen as SPARK Prize finalist – Vote for us NOW!

AVLF is one of ten finalists for United Way’s 2017 SPARK Prize. This competition – which had 70 entries – awards grants to organizations that address the needs of Atlanta-area children and families. The Shark Tank-style competition focuses on innovative ideas that will move the needle on our region’s most pressing issues.

Help us win the 2017 SPARK Prize!

To enter the contest, we submitted a 5-minute video discussing the ground-breaking work AVLF is doing in the Thomasville Heights community to address elementary school turnover by stabilizing housing. Widely recognized for its creative approach to both legal services and education reform, our Standing with Our Neighbors program is expanding to the Atlanta neighborhoods of Adair Park, Mechanicsville, Pittsburg, Peoplestown, Capitol Gateway and Summerhill this fall.

United Way will give away four SPARK awards and an Audience Choice Award, which will be based on online votes by the general public.

Although we’re thrilled we made it to the second round of the competition, there is still more work to be done – and you can help! Vote for AVLF to win the Audience Choice Award. With your vote, we can make this award a reality.

Final prizes will be awarded at the C3 Conference on Friday, April 21, 2017.
