Join us in the fight for equal justice.

National problems. Local action.

For over 40 years, we’ve created safe and stable homes and families by inspiring the fight for equal justice. Through our programs, the top legal minds of the city give back to their community by volunteering to help low-income Atlantans achieve the safety and stability they deserve.

In 2019, our Annual Campaign raised over $1,070,000. But in order to sustain the exponential growth of our programs and services, we set an ambitious fundraising goal this year of $1.5 million.

All donations to our Annual Campaign are unrestricted and fully tax-deductible. This enables AVLF to employ the funds wherever they are needed most.

2020 is Executive Director Marty Ellin’s last year at AVLF.

In 2021, Deputy Director Michael Lucas will take over as our Executive Director. For Marty’s last year with the organization, we’re asking anyone who has been impacted by his thoughtfulness, his dedication, and his friendship to donate to the Annual Campaign in his honor.

To help us meet our goal, assembled a team of some of our most loyal supporters – friends of Marty who are committed to building a fairer and more equitable Atlanta.

Join us in celebrating 20 years of Marty Ellin’s incomparable commitment to equal access to justice.

Your donation gives us the resources to integrate our programs into a cohesive, community-centered, place-based system of support.

provide holistic services.

When someone reaches out to a staff member – be it in the Safe Families Office, a SWON school, or by the phone – the difficulties they face are rarely simple.

In each of our programs, AVLF seeks to educate and empower those who need our help – not just in court, but in their daily lives.

Your support creates more holistic, proactive, and efficient programs, where we can provide more thorough and comprehensive assistance to Atlantans in need.

build relationships with our volunteers.

Volunteer attorneys are crucial to each of our programs. This organization can thrive only with the enthusiasm of local attorneys – and their willingness to help.

We want to inspire the legal community. We want to educate local lawyers. We want to recruit.

Your gift makes the volunteer experience better. You’re helping us recruit and retain the top legal minds of Atlanta to provide crucial legal services to those who need it most.
