Co-Director, Safe & Stable Homes Project

Crystal is the co-director of the Safe and Stable Homes Project, which provides legal representation and advocacy for people in landlord-tenant, eviction defense, and wage cases. She focuses on special initiatives and larger-impact efforts to promote affordable housing and anti-displacement measures in metro Atlanta. She serves as the managing attorney for the Eviction Defense program, including the City of Atlanta Pilot program providing “Access to Counsel” to tenants facing evictions.

Prior to joining AVLF, Crystal was a staff attorney and capital investigator at the Southern Center for Human Rights and an educator in Atlanta Public Schools. She obtained an undergraduate degree in history from Harvard College, a Master’s in Education from Georgia State University, and a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School.
