AVLF board member Adria Perez was presented with the Trailblazer award, and staff member Gabriela Medina Núñez gave a student testimony.
The Georgia Latino Law Foundation (GLLF) hosted their annual luncheon on April 11th. Adria Perez, board member and friend of Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, was presented with the Trailblazer Award, along with Jessica Wood of Bodker, Ramsey, Andrews, Winograd & Wildstein, P.C.
“These incredible attorneys are the personification of servant leadership,” GLLF said on Facebook. “Their selection was an easy one, as they have been a constant and positive force at our programs and have gone above and beyond to mentor and support our law students.”
“It was an absolute privilege spending my summer with an organization that makes such a difference fighting for those in need,” said Núñez.
GLLF Fellow and intermittent AVLF staff member Gabriela Medina Núñez also gave a student testimony at the luncheon, where she shared the impact of her work with AVLF on her career and vision.
“It was an absolute privilege spending my summer with an organization that makes such a difference fighting for those in need,” said Núñez. “I saw first hand how these incredible men and women take on daily challenges to fight for equal access to justice.”
AVLF is proud of Gabi and Adria both, and we know that accomplished attorneys like Adria will continue to inspire the next generation of lawyers, like Gabi, to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

As AVLF’s Communications Associate, Ashleigh helps Katie King with website content development, social media outreach, and various other forms of communication with our fiercely compassionate supporters. Ashleigh is ever-eager to share the remarkable stories of our clients, and the impact of AVLF’s staff and volunteers on our community.
Before joining AVLF, Ashleigh was a Fulbright Scholar in Turkey. She holds a BA in English and Linguistics from the University of Georgia. She is also a performance artist, and can occasionally be seen performing movement pieces, poetry, and combinations of the two around Atlanta and beyond.
