When Ms. Terry turned down her boyfriend’s demands for sex, he became violent. He took her phone, pinned her on the bed, punched her, and stole her car. Despite his attempts to restrain her, Ms. Terry found her way to the Safe Families Office, where she was granted a Temporary Protective Order.
She felt safe for the first time in months.
Thanks to Audrey Bergeson of Smith & Lake Family Law, Ms. Terry’s Order was extended for the next year. The order gave her a safe place to live, forbade her abuser from contacting her, and ordered him to undergo alcohol abuse evaluation. He was also required to attend Family Violence Intervention Program courses.
Thank you, Audrey, for your help in making sure that Ms. Terry can move on free from abuse.
