AVLF Conducts Training with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP
(June 8, 2024) The Safe and Stable Families team at the ATL Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) had the privilege of partnering with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP to conduct a comprehensive Intimate Partner Abuse training. This session was an important step in our ongoing efforts to equip legal professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to support survivors and advocate for safer communities.
The training provided participants with valuable insights and resources, empowering them to better address the complex issues surrounding intimate partner abuse. By enhancing their understanding and skills, we aim to improve the quality of support available to survivors and strengthen the legal resources accessible to those in need.
Partnerships with local firms and legal professionals, such as the one we have with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, are crucial to expanding our reach and enhancing our services. These collaborations help ensure that every individual can access the legal support necessary to navigate challenging circumstances and work towards safer, more stable environments.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP team, especially Elisa Kodish, pro bono partner, for hosting and participating in this important training. Together, we are making strides towards creating a more informed and supportive network for survivors of intimate partner abuse.

About Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation
Serving Atlanta and Fulton County since 1979, AVLF is the largest provider of free legal services to two groups in Fulton County: low-income tenants and survivors of intimate partner abuse. Our mission is to create safe and stable homes and families by inspiring the fight for equal justice. We believe no one standing up for their rights should have to do it alone. Whatever our clients are up against, we’re here for them. At AVLF, ‘here’ means many things. It means beside them in court; at our downtown legal clinics nearly every Saturday of the year; in our two offices in the Fulton County Courthouse; in our communities’ schools; and in our clients’ homes.
