AVLF Builds Community Connections at National Night Out

This August, Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer Foundation (AVLF)  had the privilege of participating in National Night Out. This annual community-building campaign plays a crucial role in fostering strong partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. This event is instrumental in enhancing neighborhood safety and creating lasting bonds within the community

Our Standing With Survivors (SWS) team had the opportunity to engage with the community in South Fulton, while our Standing With Our Neighbors (SWON) team connected with residents in Peoplestown. Both teams felt deeply honored to be part of such a meaningful event, where they could interact directly with community members, listen to their concerns, and continue AVLF’s mission of advocating for justice and equity.

This experience was invaluable, allowing us to join forces with the communities we serve, and work together to strengthen the fabric of these neighborhoods. Ensuring that our communities remain safe, resilient, and connected is at the heart of what we do.

About Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation

Serving Atlanta and Fulton County since 1979, AVLF is the largest provider of free legal services to two groups in Fulton County: low-income tenants and survivors of intimate partner abuse. Our mission is to create safe and stable homes and families by inspiring the fight for equal justice. We believe no one standing up for their rights should have to do it alone. Whatever our clients are up against, we’re here for them. At AVLF, ‘here’ means many things. It means beside them in court; at our downtown legal clinics nearly every Saturday of the year; in our two offices in the Fulton County Courthouse; in our communities’ schools; and in our clients’ homes.
