Thank you for your willingness to stand with individuals + families in our community.

At Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer Foundation (AVLF), volunteers are the backbone of our work.
Whether you give a few hours, take a case, provide technical expertise, or support behind the scenes, your time helps create safety, stability, and access to justice for individuals and families who would otherwise face the legal system alone.
Every volunteer strengthens our mission and moves us closer to a community where safe and stable homes and families are possible for all.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
AVLF’s work is organized under two core pillars of service: Safe and Stable Families and Safe and Stable Homes.
Safe and Stable Families: These programs support survivors of domestic violence and families navigating crisis. Volunteers may assist with protective orders, family law matters, child advocacy, and other legal interventions that help ensure safety and long-term stability for parents and children.
Safe and Stable Homes: These programs focus on housing stability and preventing homelessness. Volunteer opportunities may include eviction defense support, housing court assistance, economic stability initiatives, client intake, outreach, and other efforts that help individuals and families remain safely housed.
